20 year-old L.A.-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Alexa Melo has independently released her self-titled debut album today. Songs from the Alexa Melo LP has been garnering fantastic reviews from tastemaker music blogs including Culture Collide, Buzzbands.LA, AllMusic, PureVolume and more. Alexa has announced two new live performances in June – both in Los Angeles: on June 17, she and her band will play Pink Floyd‘s Dark Side Of The Moon album in its entirety at Club Moscow (@ Boardner’s). Set time is 10PM.
On June 27 they’ll play the KCRW-presented “Chinatown Summer Nights” event in downtown Los Angeles’ Chinatown Central Plaza. Set time is 8PM and it’s a free, all-ages show. (*also on the bill is Mike Savage Artist Management client SNEAKOUT [7PM])
Music discovery website PureVolume has world-premiered a song called “Demoted” which will be found on Alexa Melo‘s self-titled debut album (in stores June 2). The track, their “Free Song Of The Day”, can be heard and downloaded for free HERE.
Songs from Alexa’s album are already garnering specialty airplay on stations including KROQ and KCSN Los Angeles, KTCL Denver, and KCXX Riverside (among others). One other song in particular, “My Ex”, has been officially added into regular rotation on KXRN Laguna Beach.
